The Drop-Off at Sipadan Island is a wall dive that offers an exhilarating dive experience with its dramatic underwater cliff.
Only a few meters from the beach, Sipadan Island‘s well-known Drop-Off spectacularly plunges over 600m into the depths of the ocean.
Even just snorkelling at this famed dive site in Sipadan will reap magnificent sightings of sharks and turtles passing just meters away amidst a vertical backdrop of colourful corals and reef fish.
There’s a reason why the place is called the Drop-Off. Imagine just kneeling down in shallow water and looking straight down into the abyss 600 meters away at the edge. Really scary and exciting at the same time!
During your dives at the Drop-Off, you might see (or maybe bump into, if you don’t see where you are going) a couple of Manta Rays playing nearby.
The wall itself has a wide variety of coral, sponges and an astonishing line-up of large fish around. Every nook and cranny in the walls is worth investigating for crabs, shrimp and various other sub-aquatic wonders.
For more underwater adventures, don’t miss Sipadan’s other famous dive site i.e. Barracuda Point, where you can take selfies with thousands of swirling barracudas. Another must-visit is the eerie yet fascinating Turtle Tomb, a graveyard for turtles.
