At Sipadan’s famed Barracuda Point, divers can swim amidst thousands of barracuda and big-eye trevally, forming spectacular whirlwind-like formations.
Barracuda Point, another popular Sipadan dive site, is so-called for the myriad of chevron barracuda that lurk in the waters, where schools of silvery jacks and surgeonfish also vie for attention.
Chances are very good that you will encounter a big swirling school of hundreds of chevron barracudas and also see packs of patrolling grey reef sharks at Barracuda Point.
Topography: This dive starts off descending deep along the sheer wall, looking out in the blue for pelagic. Eventually, you head towards the south at about 22m deep. There the current will bring you to Barracuda Point where there are often thousands of barracuda swimming around in a massive tornado or vortex. You then finish the dive in the shallows of the Coral Garden, another dive site in Sipadan Island.
